LATEST CORONAVIRUS GUIDANCE/ TRACK & TRACE

As the number of positive cases of COVID-19 continues to rise across the country, we will continue to regularly update club members with regard to maintaining social distancing; how many members can participate within a group; what steps you should take if you receive a positive test result after attending a training session; our club track & trace system.

See this link for latest EA guidance: https://www.englandathletics.org/athletics-and-running/news/guidance-update-for-restricted-return-to-activity-for-coaches-leaders-athletes-runners-and-facilities-step-3/#tieroutdoor

Current rules allow us to train and run in groups of 6 with people from other households, but still maintaining a 2-metre gap from those you do not live with at all times – this means before, during and after a run!

Also please follow all Government hygiene advice and do not attend runs if you feel unwell. Although it is permissible to have much larger groups when being coached in a Covid – secure environment outside such as a running track, we will be limiting the track group sizes to a maximum of 8 for the time being.

TRACK & TRACE

RUNNERS – If you develop coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms (listed here https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/) within 48 hours of attending a club run you must inform us. Please email our coaching group admin secretary Marie Crawford with your name, date, time and coach for the run. Marie’s email address is [email protected]

In the event that you test positive you will need to complete the England Athletics COVID-19 form. Please use the contact email above for information on how to do this.

COACHES

Please carry a mobile phone, first aid kit, mask and hand sanitiser on all club training runs. You will need to have a running belt (reasonably priced at under £10 on Amazon) to ensure that all necessities are carried.

Remember to email Marie with details of those who have attended a group run/training session as soon as possible after the event. These records will be destroyed after 21 days.

If there are any non – HR members taking part, then she will also need their email details. It is vital that she can easily contact people asap in the event that anyone reports experiencing COVID – 19 symptoms after training with us.

Marie has access to members’ email addresses via the EA portal, but needs to keep an up-to-date list of any runners who do not appear on there so that she can forward them the relevant protocols which they wouldn’t otherwise receive.

Non member emails will be retained for as long as EA require us to keep lists.

Many thanks for your co-operation in helping us ensure that Hastings Runners continues to comply with all Government guidance.

Best wishes, Nick Brown (club chairman)
